1. Generation X People becoming too Tech-Saavy
- People becoming over-reliant on technology
- Eg. Proper forms of face to face human interactions, conversations and etiquette not learned as most communication are done via Instant Messaging, SMS, etc. and many in “SMS Lingo”.
Hence these people are not aware of how to react if places in awkward social situations.
- Taking things for granted where many things can be done online with a simple click of a button
- Eg. What currently is written, could be typed out in wordpad, notepad, or word doc in microsoft as it is not as time consuming.
This show hows time could be saved and that the internet/computers have grown so accessible to people that it would be logical to take the easier path/route.
- Overexposure to the bad side of society from the internet
- Eg. Pornography, learning how to make home-made bombs, influence from terrorism, sexual harrassment, cyber bullying and defamation on blogs, etc.
- Loss of certain skills and simple pleasures in life
- Eg. Digital photos can simply be discarded with a press of the Delete Button, they have little sentimental value scrolling through them as compared to flipping through the pages of a photo album.
2. Teenage Pregnancy and Abortions
- More and more teens are engaging in casual sexual intercourse due to influence from the media
- E.g Mature themed shows; Gossip Girl, Skins, Desperate Housewives, Sex & The City, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, etc.)
- They are not yet mature enough to consider the implications of having sex
- Apparent in newspapers articles where 13 year old boy became a father.

- Current youths do not realise the significance of virginity until they grow older and it is too late
- Another issue arise alongside with teenage girls getting pregnant; Abortion
- Many simply abort their babies as they are not yet prepared for such time commitment and do not have the ability to raise a child.
- This may cause depression after their abortion and some may feel suicidal.
3. Singapore’s Rush Rush Syndrome
- Society becoming very fast paced (Link)

4. Discrimination (Racial, Gender)
- The infamous Kanye West interruption during Taylor Swift’s award speech controversy/fiasco (Link) (Link)
- His implementation of dubbing Beyonce having one of ‘em best videos of all time is saying something than just talent but sharing the same skin tone or culture. Making Kanye sound like an upright racist.
- Miley Cyrus & her friends slanting their eyes to look Chinese or Asian ._. (Link)
- Miley admitted that it was done purposefully but she never saw right or fault in her to apologize. Things worsen as the news got out and as all celebrities would do to protect their name & keep their fame intact, apologizing publicly is only right.

Stark contrast of interaction could be set apart upon viewing these 2 photos. Lack of social skills would ultimately drive one to inevitable loneliness. Hence, highlighting the importance that by expanding one’s social circle, it would allow new exposure to things never encountered before. Career wise, without proper minimal social skills, people would end up looking like they lack other competencies, too. As well as when it comes to building trust & bonds.
People are people, and sometimes we change our minds. But it’s killing me to see you go after all this time..

IMM Assignment 1.2

It was on a typical Tuesday afternoon where my friends & I chilled & hanged out @ Cafe Hotshot; located within school library’s vicinity. A couple of my friends were busying themselves with figuring how to complete the Authoring homework assigned to us last week as I was already close to completion. Hence, my friend – Shing & I whipped out my camera and snapped a few pictures & recorded down silly videos. This, was one among the few taken that very day. The hilarity of our silliness astounds me but nevertheless, its attempt to make me laugh never ceases to fail. (:
In the video, I was feigning to box with Shing just for kicks. As I took a hit, my camera moved along with that direction.. which gives the feeling that the camera was from Shing’s eye view. When she made her move on me, I dodged. (as could be seen in the 3rd picture) But wonders why when she took another hit, I went into the wrong, opposite direction. -.- Stirred us into a horrible laughing pair. We had to stop the camera from rolling to catch our breathes from the overload of guffaws. Nothing beats spending the afternoon, over time in school with great company as such!
